HMIe Visit Caskieberran Primary School

HM Inspectorate of Education has been an integral part of the Scottish education system for over 160 years. What has not changed over these years is the emphasis on the relationship between inspection and improvement. The particular focus in Scotland on combining inspection with self-evaluation is central to their drive to raise educational standards.

Each year, HM Inspectorate of Education (HMIe) inspects and reports on the quality of education in pre-school centres, primary schools, secondary schools, special schools, community learning and development services, colleges, and residential educational provision. Our partner school Caskieberran Primary has just undergone an inspection during the week commencing the 13th June.

Understandably, the presence of HMIe Inspectors brings pressure to the Head Teacher and all the teaching staff. Lomond Group Director Alan Seath took part in a presentation to P3 pupils on the Wednesday 15th in the presence of an Inspector and was interviewed by another immediately after.

The ordeal is over and the final report from the Inspectors is awaited. After a hectic time of awards, inspection and hard work the staff and pupils will be looking forward to their well-deserved summer break.

Have a lovely holiday; we hope the sun shines for you and we look forward to another year of enterprising work.
